Theresa May meets Me2 Club

We were honoured to welcome Theresa May MP to meet our team and to hear about
our vital work over the pandemic as well as the difference we make in supporting children
attend their favourite weekly leisure activities.

We were joined by Lucy, our Chair of Trustees who is also the parent of a child supported by
Me2 Club. Lucy said: “We were delighted to welcome Mrs May to our offices in Woodley this
week. We were proud to be able to share with her the way in which Me2 Club quickly
adapted the services we offer during the pandemic and our plans for recovery and beyond.
She was very interested in the impact that COVID and isolation has had on the mental health
and well-being of the children and families we support and our commitment to help more
children than ever before to be included in mainstream activities.”

After her visit, Theresa said: “Me2 Club provides a really important support service for
children with additional needs which enables them to access the clubs and activities which
their peers enjoy, but which all too often without this support they simply couldn’t
enjoy. Often groups like Scouts worry about whether they can provide for a child with
additional needs, but with the help and support of Me2 Club’s volunteers the answer is yes
they can. This benefits the child and their family but it also benefits the group they are
joining. This is a great charity which really makes a difference to children’s lives.”
