Three Ways To Make An Impact

We offer opportunities for everyone! By volunteering with us, you’ll not only make a positive impact on the lives of others but also become part of a community dedicated to breaking down barriers and fostering inclusion. All roles will require you to complete an enhanced DBS check.

1:1 Volunteering

A weekly role supporting a child with additional needs to participate in mainstream activities, like Scouts or sports, by being their buddy.

Youth Group Volunteers

A more flexible role helping at groups that empower young people with SEND. Work alongside other volunteers in  sessions that help participants develop skills, connect with peers, and advocate for change.

Fundraising Friend

Help drive Me2 Club’s mission by organising or being part of events, raising awareness, and gathering vital funds. Your efforts make a lasting difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

1:1 Volunteering

Our young people want to attend weekly clubs, but their additional needs and disabilities can make it difficult for them to take part in leisure activities that you may take for granted like swimming lessons, Scouts/Guides, sports groups and more.

You’ll meet with the same child each week and help them build confidence, develop skills, and create lasting friendships in a fun environment.

Our team will match you with a child whose activity is local to you and is on a day and time that works with your schedule, you’ll be assigned an Activities and Volunteers Coordinator (AVC) who will support you throughout your volunteering journey.

No prior experience is needed – our 8-hour Volunteer Induction Training is packed with everything you need to know about your role.

As consistency is important for the children we support, we ask that you can commit at least a year to volunteering.

Youth Group Volunteers

Work with our team of Me2 Club staff and other volunteers to supervise at our SEND youth groups and forums.

There are four groups you can help at: our monthly Teen Group, our monthly Youth Social Action Group, and our two termly Youth Forums – one in Reading and one in Wokingham. These groups are run by Me2 Club and provide a safe and inclusive space for our young people to have their say and make new friends.

We also offer exciting trips for our young people, such as visits to theme parks and cinemas, which our Youth Group volunteers are encouraged to help at too.

You’ll have flexibility about how often you volunteer. Some volunteering opportunities require commitment each month, whilst others are monthly or weekend events.

If you’d like to apply please contact ramona@me2club.org.uk. You’ll receive training online before starting your role.

Fundraising Friend

With a small staff team, we are always looking for more fundraising volunteers to help us on stalls and spread the word about our work. Events usually take place on a Saturday or Sunday and tend to last for a few hours.

Our busiest times are the summer months and the run up to Christmas however we will give you plenty of notice about upcoming events and there is no expectation for you to be available for all of them.

By becoming a Fundraising Friend you will be helping us to raise the valuable funds needed to support children and young people across Wokingham and Reading while engaging with the local community.

Contact info@me2club.org.uk to apply.

Hear From Our Volunteers!

We take great pride in the powerful, lasting impact our volunteering has on those who give their time, enriching their lives as much as the children they support.
