Wonderful Wokingham Walk total

Last Sunday, Tess and her team took part in the 10-mile route of the Wokingham Walk. This was a major challenge for Tess physically as 6 years ago, after a routine back operation went wrong, she was left bed-ridden for weeks and still struggles with walking long distances. This fundraising effort from Tess raised an amazing £1,095 on her JustGiving page and a grand total of £2,150 from the whole team. Liz, our Fundraising Development Officer also took part, as well as Elfi, our Trustee, partners and friends. They managed to complete the course in 3 hours 8 minutes! The money raised from the walk will be used to support 5  young people at their activities and we would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to the whole walking team for their amazing efforts and for going above and beyond to support Me2 Club. Thank you to everyone who donated, your support is greatly appreciated by Tess, Elfi, Pete, Lisa, Liz, Kevin and Laura (Harrison Clarke Rickerbys). Could you walk or run a course for Me2 Club? If you already take part in local runs why not consider signing up to Virtual Runner and taking part in the Thunder Run in September!

We also held our annual “Blue Sky” day with the whole Me2 Club team last weekend on Saturday. This meeting is a chance for us to review our progress over the last year and to discuss new ways in which we can develop and take Me2 Club forward. It was great for everyone to have a chance to discuss our exciting plans for the future and to look over all the success we have had in the last year, thanks to everyone for coming!

We are all looking forward to the Royal Wedding this Saturday and we’ve heard from BBC Berkshire that the Berkhisre Bunting is now up! Our children and young people helped to decorate 15 of the flags beautifully decorating The Long Walk in Windsor (from Cambridge Gate down as far as the A308). If you visit the Great Park and see any of our children’s artwork please tag Me2 Club and BBC Berkshire or send us some pictures! Each of our flags contains the Me2 Club logo so look out for them on the TV coverage of the procession.

Don’t forget, if you are shopping online, you can support Me2 Club for free by registering and using AmazonSmile and TheGivingMachine.

“My son looks forward for Wednesday to come so he can meet his volunteer and play badminton with him. Every week I see the progress in him. Thank you very much Me2 club for making my son happy.”
