This week at Me2 Club

It has been a quieter week here in the office due to the Easter holidays but there has been lots of preparation for the Easter Party next week, matching work, and updates to the website. A few more children have been taken off the waiting list this week who Jess and Nikki are looking forward to working with. They have also been busy working to match some of our children and young people with new volunteers ready to start after the Easter break. On Wednesday we went out to Addington School team to take part in some important Manual Handling training. We had a lot of fun and learnt a lot of valuable lessons, which we are already trying to put into practice in the office!

Jess has planned a few exciting activities for the families attending our Easter party next week including gardening, biscuit decorating and slime! We have also organised with BBC Radio Berkshire to help them with their Berkshire Bunting project for the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Our young people will have the opportunity to decorate giant bunting flags with paint, crayons and sharpies that will be used to create bunting, which will be used to decorate the crowd barriers on the big day! We are very excited to be included in this project and hope our young people will be excited in taking part as well. Look out on our social media next week for photos of the flags.

Liz went out to a meeting this Thursday as part of the planning for the Woodley Carnival. All four charity beneficiaries attended the meeting and they were all filmed as part of the promotion of the event. Liz also enjoyed meeting the committee who work as volunteers to make it all possible. The carnival will be held on the 9th of June so look out for our stall on the day!

Tess is still looking for people to join her team for the Wokingham Walk so please get in touch via phone or email if you are interested in taking part. If you aren’t able to be part of the team please consider donating to her JustGiving page or visit it to read Tess’ story.

Finally, if you are shopping in ASDA Lower Earley don’t forget to vote for Me2 Club with the green tokens to support us.
