Sunshine and smiles!
It has been a lovely sunny week for our young people at their activities and our stall at Wokingham May Fayre. Tess, Jess and Nikki have been out visiting our new and existing matches at their activities including tennis, Brownies and swimming. It has been lovely to see everyone getting along so well and to see our young people being included and having fun. Also this week, Liz, Tess, Bernadette, Simon and some great volunteers ran a stall at Wokingham May Fayre on Monday and took £571.56. Thanks to Wokingham Lions Club for organising the event and Asda, Aldi, Freixenet and Tesco for bottle donations for our tombola. We hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Liz went out to see Waingels Interact this week and was surprised with a £500 donation towards our work, in total they have raised £1500 to Me2 Club this year and we are all very grateful for their support. Special thanks go to Billy, Interact President and Me2 Club volunteer, for his help and support with this donation.
Every week the team see the positive impact Me2 Club has on the children we support, as we observe them grow in confidence, independence, socialising with their peers and having fun! To continue to keep ‘Making the Difference’, this Sunday Tess is raising funds to support 3 children attending a weekly activity with their matched volunteer for a year. If you can, please sponsor Tess to help her reach the target. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tess-eagles
The sunflowers we planted at the Easter party are loving the sunny weather and will soon needed moving to bigger pots! We hope some of our children and young people who planted their own sunflower are having the same success and we would love to see any photos.
Could you help us at our FUNdraiser on May 25th? We still need cake donations and any willing volunteers who could give up a couple of hours on that Friday. We need help to run the stall and row-a-thon in Woodley Town Centre, please give us a call on 01189696369 or email Liz@me2club.org.uk.
