Summer Raffle launched

This week, we launched our Summer Raffle and will be selling tickets at all our upcoming stalls and through Liz in the office, each ticket is just £1. The top prize is £150 John Lewis Vouchers and 2nd prize is a 2-night hotel break for 2! This event is sponsored by KJ Smith Solicitors and the draw will be on 20th July.

We also had our recently trained volunteers into the office for their interviews, which is a chance for us to get to know a little more about them, so we can match them with our children and young people. They are already being matched and we are making arrangements to meet our young people very soon. Jess, Nikki and Tess have all been out at activities to check in on some of our new matches and introducing new volunteers to our families. This is a very busy time of year for us, as many of our volunteers take a break to concentrate on their exams, meaning we need to rematch lots of our young people with volunteers.

At the end of last week, John Smith, ran a quiz night in aid of Me2 Club and raised an amazing £1200! Tess went on the night to show her support and take part with her quiz team, she had a fantastic evening. We would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to John for organising the quiz and everyone who supported the event and made it so successful. Click here to read more about the night.

We have lots of community events coming up in the next couple of weeks, so please have a look at the dates and let us know if you could help for a couple of hours. We are running a fundraiser on the 25th of May at Woodley Centre Stage in the town centre and need cakes to sell alongside the other activities, so if anyone could bake anything for this event we would be very grateful.

We are looking forward to seeing lots of people on Monday at Wokingham May Fayre, look out for our stall!

“My experience of volunteering with S is very rewarding and I enjoy my time when I am at Guides with her. Me2 Club has given us opportunities to do different things and have different experiences”.
