Small Charities Week

We had a brilliant day on Tuesday at our Small Charities Week Event in Woodley Town Centre. There was even a visit from the Mayor of Woodley, who helped us serve the cakes! From our bric-a-brac/cake sale, bucket collecting and raffle we raised an amazing £735, so a big thank you to everyone who came along and everyone who gave up their time to help out, we couldn’t have done it without you. It’s not too late to support us by buying some raffle tickets, or if you are able to support us by selling some books then please get in touch.

On Wednesday our Fundraising Development Officer Liz and Activities and Volunteers Coordinator Nikki, attended a brilliant INVOLVE training course called ‘Presentation Skills’.  They both picked up lots of new ideas to use and are looking forward to testing them out when recruiting new fundraisers and volunteers.

This year we are Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ Charity of the Year and on  Wednesday evening Liz, Tess, Bev and Jana attended a party at Zest which marked 5 years of them being located at Green Park. It was a great opportunity to share with people what we do and thanks to their generous support we will be able to support 2 children and their volunteers at a weekly activity for the next year.

Over the last few weeks we have been working on producing a new general leaflet for Me2 Club. We are now putting the finishing touches to it and are looking forward to sharing it with you all next month.

“My experience of volunteering with S is very rewarding and I enjoy my time when I am at Guides with her. Me2 Club has given us opportunities to do different things and have different experiences”.
