Sea, sunshine and smiles!

On Wednesday 20th of February, we took a group of our teenagers for a Day Away to Portsmouth. The teenagers chose the activities for the day and we all travelled to Portsmouth on the coach early on Wednesday to fit in all the activities! We went on a Boat Tour, out for lunch at Pizza Express and to the Blue Reef aquarium . It was great to chat with the teenagers over lunch about our Me2 Club Teenage Meet Up Project and it was lovely to see the teenagers enjoying the activities in Portsmouth with the help of the volunteers. As part of the trip we also caught a public bus and asked the teenagers to buy their bus tickets after counting out the change. One parent told us “It is a good idea to practice life skills. My son does not catch a bus often.” and so we are pleased to have given them all this opportunity. We would like to thank DM Thomas Foundation for Young People for supporting this trip and making it possible. “S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
