Present donations and volunteer training
This week Nikki and Jess ran two evening sessions for Volunteer Induction training and now we have 14 new volunteers who we will be matching with our children and young people over the coming weeks. Thanks to Holt School for hosting us and thanks to everyone who attended, we look forward to seeing you all again soon for your interviews.
Jess has also been out looking for new volunteers at Farnborough College Volunteer Fair and talking to students at St. Crispin’s School and we hope to see some of the students at our upcoming training. We still have places available for our Volunteer Induction Training on December 4th and 5th. See our events page for more details.
We had an amazing donation of toys for our Christmas party on the 10th December from The Fence Club Charity. Cllr Clive Jones, a Trustee of The Fence Club, came into the office to present the gifts and he has also recently given us a generous grant of £4,000 towards our work. It is great to already have lots of our families attending the party and if you haven’t replied yet please RSVP to the invites that Tess sent out last week to let us know that you are coming.
Our Christmas card competition is still open to any Me2 Club young person, or their siblings, who want to create a card that we will send out to our supporters. There will be a small prize for the winner, which will be given out at the Christmas party. The card designs need to be colourful, in felt tips and A4 size and delivered to the office by November 22nd.
We urgently need more volunteers to help us at the Wokingham Winter Carnival which is taking place on Sunday 26th November. We are going to have a stall on Peach Street and we will need help setting up, running and clearing away the stall from 9:00am until 5:30pm. If you think you could help at all, please call the office on 0118 9696 369 or email email@example.com. We also still need donations for our bottle tombola. Any bottle of drink or toiletries would be great and will need to be dropped off at our office.
Good luck to everyone who has been hard at work raising money for BBC Children in Need, we’re all looking forward to watching the show tonight and donating to this great cause.
Voting for the AVIVA community fund is closing next week on the 21st of November and we still need lots more votes to be in with a chance of funding. Please follow the link to register and vote.
