Plans in place for the Day Away to Bristol

This week, we had some of our teenagers into the office to plan activities for the ‘Day Away’ to Bristol in half term. We are really looking forward to the trip and hope all our teenagers are as well. Thank you to all those who came to the meeting, or voted for activities via email, preparations will soon begin in full swing to make these plans happen.

A few exciting announcement this week,  Me2 Club have been featured in the Sonning Parish Magazine. The piece was written by Bob Peters and tells the story of his daughter who was one of our volunteers; click here to read the story on page 15.

We are also very happy to announce that we have been chosen to be the main beneficiary of  Rotary Club of Easthampstead’s Charity Golf Day, which they are running at Bearwood Lakes. We would like to thank them for the continued support of our work. To get involved, click here for the event flyer and if you aren’t a golfer, please consider supporting the day through Tee sponsorship or auction/raffle prize donations.

Another upcoming event that our supporters and families may be interested in is the Spotlight of Berkshire Talent Show, which we are helping to promote. Do you know a young person with a special talent? We are hoping to have an entry to represent Me2 Club at the show and would love to get behind someone with a budding talent. The showcase will be held at The Whitty Theatre in Wokingham. You need to register to be eligible to perform by: phoning 07834 881116; emailing or contacting Rotary Clubs of Wokingham & Ascot for more information.

Lastly, we are running another Volunteer Induction training next week and there are still spaces available for anyone who is considering applying to volunteer. Click here to download an application form and send it back to so we can book you onto training. It will run 9am-5pm on Saturday February 10th in Woodley and is a fantastic opportunity to begin your volunteering journey with Me2 Club. Tess also has spaces still available on her upcoming workshop, ‘Introduction to the Autism Spectrum Disorder’, on February 6th so please look at the Inclusion Training page for more information or click here to buy tickets. This training is for anyone working with children who have additional needs.

“S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
