Planning, preparations and upcoming events

This week at Me2 Club, Jess, Tess and Vicky have been out visiting lots of our young people and their volunteers at activities. It’s been great to see so many of them settling back into their activities this term and trying new things. There has also been lots of planning and preparations for our Teenager Day Away as well as our upcoming Weekend Away.

Jess and Bernadette, our Chair of Trustees, had a successful day at the Wokingham Volunteer fair on Saturday. They got to meet lots of new potential volunteers and raise awareness for Me2 Club. They also got to chat to Wokingham Borough Mayor, Cllr. John Kaiser at the event who gave a lovely speech to open the event. A big ‘thank you’ to the Wokingham volunteer centre for organising the event and David Cliff Estate Agents for sponsoring it.

Tickets are still on sale for The Wokingham Borough Mayor’s Gala Ball. It will be held on 9th March 2019 at Sindlesham Court. The event will include a drinks reception, a 3-course meal with silver service, dancing and entertainment. For more information and tickets please contact Liz.

Tess will be running the next Inclusion Training for activity leaders on Managing Emotions and Sensory Processing. The course will be held on 25th February 6-8.30pm for more information and to book your place on the course please contact Tess.

“S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
