New recruits!

This week we ran volunteer induction training and are excited to welcome 7 new recruits to Me2 Club. We hope to see lots of the volunteers in the office for their interviews in the upcoming weeks and we look forward to matching them with our young people very soon.

On Monday 6th May, Liz, along with some of our fundraising friends and trustees, will be at Wokingham May Fayre. The Me2 Club stall will have lots of fun and games including toy adoption, chocolate and lolly games, raffle tickets and the sale of some of the new Me2 Club merchandise! The stall will be located in the Market Place from 10 am – 5 pm.

This year’s annual Sikh Vaisakhi procession (Nagar Kirtan) will be taking place on Sunday 5th May and will be supporting the work of Me2 Club.
The procession will start from the Gurdwara at Cumberland Road at 11 am and head around the streets of Reading, it will then return to Cumberland road at 3 pm. To see the procession we would suggest heading to Palmer Park at about 11 am so you are there when it passes. For more information about the route and timings click here.

Congratulations to Patrick Denston for successful completing his first ever Marathon in Krakow at the weekend in aid of Me2 Club. You can still support his fantastic achievement by going to his fundraising page. For anyone who is inspired by Patrick, or all those amazing London marathon runners, to sign up for a different running event this year please do consider raising sponsorship for the children we support and email Liz.

This week we have launched the Me2 Club Summer Charity Raffle which this year is kindly sponsored by Herrington Carmichael Solicitors. Amazing prizes include £150 in John Lewis vouchers and a luxury M&S Hamper plus many others. Please support this important fundraiser by emailing Liz for your tickets.

We hope that all of our Me2 Club young people, their families and our volunteers enjoy the bank holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing lots of you at activities next week.

“S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
