On Saturday we had a fully booked volunteer induction training! 20 new volunteers attended the training in Wokingham and are now going through the process of interviews and DBS checks. Once these are complete the team will be able to start matching them with young people in the upcoming weeks. This training course was kindly funded by the Youth Social Action Programme as part of it’s #iwill campaign.
On Monday Tess and Liz attended the annual Berkshire Community Foundation Symposium, along with 150 others. This was a great event with plenty of opportunities for networking and interesting talks from various speakers from across the voluntary sector. The event also saw the launch of Berkshire’s Vital Signs 2018, which is an interesting read with the focus on homes, health and work. Thank you to Berkshire Community Foundation for organising the day and to the sponsors Blandy & Blandy and Green Park who looked after us so well.
We are very excited to be taking part in this year’s Community Christmas Draw which is kindly being organised by the Rotary Club of Easthampstead. Tickets are £1 each and there are 14 cash prizes to be won, with the 1st prize being a fantastic £500. The draw is taking part on 12th December so is in perfect time for Christmas shopping. Thanks to generous sponsorship, Me2 Club will keep all the proceeds from the tickets we sell so please do support our children by contacting Liz for more information.
Me2 Club is hiring bank staff for the next residential ‘Weekend Away’ on the 10th-11th November. For more information please contact Tess.
Don’t forget that Aimee and Catherine will be running a car boot sale on Sunday morning in Woodley Precinct. All the money raised will be for the Me2 Club and thank you to all who have donated items to sell. Make sure you go along and show them your support!
