Me2 Club Exciting times ahead!

We have hit the ground running this week at Me2 Club with lots of volunteer and young people meeting for the first time at home visits and planning meetings for our exciting upcoming events.

We are extremely honoured to welcome HRH The Countess of Wessex to a Tea Party to mark our 15th Birthday. The event is taking place on Monday 17th September at Addington School in Woodley.

Me2 Club was also pleased to have all our teenagers who are coming on our next ‘Weekend Away‘ to Bristol into the office to choose their activities on Thursday. It was a close vote but they have decided to go to the Zoo, bowling and miniature golf. It was great to have so many of our amazing volunteers in the office to meet the young people who they will be supporting on the weekend and help them to choose between all the exciting activities. We are all looking forward to the weekend and planning has already started using the teenager’s choices to organise a fun weekend for everyone.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our upcoming Volunteer Induction Training but we have the next training on 6th October 9am-5pm in Wokingham, which we already have applications for. Jess has been busy booking in recruitment talks at local schools and colleges and we are looking forward to getting out to raise awareness of the work we do and bring in some new volunteers to help more of our children and young people get involved in mainstream activities.

We hope that everyone has had a good first week back at school and are looking forward to starting their Me2 Club activities!

“My experience of volunteering with S is very rewarding and I enjoy my time when I am at Guides with her. Me2 Club has given us opportunities to do different things and have different experiences”.
