Happy 15th Birthday Me2 Club!

Last Sunday, we held our 15th Birthday Celebration at TVAP in Taplow with our families, supporters, and staff & trustees past and present. The morning began with coffee and pastries before our children and families had a chance to explore all the exciting activity areas including the sensory room, music room and outdoor play. The weather was beautiful for the event and very hot, so lots of our young people and their siblings took the opportunity to make use of TVAP’s water play area having lots of fun with the water jets! Later in the morning, Tess and our Trustees presented our AGM to a large audience and our distinguished guest, The Wokingham Borough Mayor Cllr John Kaiser, gave a lovely speech about our work and why he has chosen to support us this year. We also announced the winners of our new Volunteer Awards, which were presented by the Mayor and were an excellent opportunity to highlight some of the great work our volunteers have done over the past year. Congratulations to Ellie – Volunteer of the Year; Billy – Outstanding Contribution Award and Catherine – Fundraising Volunteer of the Year! After a picnic lunch everyone enjoyed a slice of an extra special cake made by one of our parents from Adeux Weddings and it was then time to go home. We would like to thank everyone that came along including the Mayor, Maria (from Shanly Foundation) and John (from Easthampstead Rotary Club). We hope everyone had a lovely time and here’s to another 15 years of Me2 Club! To see some photos of the event click here.

Liz has been out and about today at The Holt School meeting with Mr Adams, the Assistant Headteacher, and some of the students after receiving an amazing donation of £1100 from The Haberdashers, who support Me2 Club as their chosen Charity. Thank you for all the support we have received from The Holt with fundrasing, volunteers and support to run our Induction Trainings. Our next Volunteer Induction Training is in Woodley on 16th & 17th of July, please fill out an application form to reserve a place!

Thank you to everyone taking part in the Children’s Cross-country Relay in Henley next week, we have 11 young people signed up to support us. Good luck to all of you and we hope to see lots of photos of you in your Me2 Club T-shirts!

“Me2 Club provides a fantastic service, essential to our children growing up and giving them the opportunity to access mainstream activities in their community, which makes them “part” of their community.”
