What a scorcher!

On Saturday 10 fantastic children took part in the cross country relay, organised by The Children’s Challenge, to raise valuable funds for Me2 Club.

This is why one of them chose to support our work: “Toby is lucky enough to attend many clubs and events locally to meet new friends, learn new skills and just enjoy a life less ordinary. He is passionate that all children should be able to have the same opportunities as him. Me2 Club helps children like his friend Jess to thrive.”

A parent said afterwards: “It went really well and the whole event was great – really good atmosphere, beautiful location and very well organised. It was hot but there were gazebos for shade, the children mainly ran through the woods and there was a sprinkler to run through on the way round to cool them off, as well as stewards offering drinks of water and brilliantly pouring water over the children if they asked. All the children there really gave it their all and many of them ran further then they had expected to, really pushing themselves. And all in aid of lots of great charities, including Me2 Club. We explained to all our runners the purpose of Me2 Club and they were all very enthusiastic about raising money for such a great local children’s  charity.”

“Thank you” to all the runners and to those who have supported them. The total raised so far has exceeded £1,100 but you can still support their amazing efforts by going to the following JustGiving pages:
