Sikh’s astounding donation

Wokingham Borough’s Sikh community has raised a record £3,250 for Me2 Club during its annual Vaisakhi procession (Nagar Kirtan). We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ for all their hard work in drumming up so much support and awareness of our charity.

Cllr John Kaiser, outgoing Mayor said: “Wokingham Borough’s Sikh community’s recent fundraising efforts is nothing short of astounding.”

Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, added “It’s an honour to see the local Sikh community rally in support of Me2 Club. It was inspiring to watch children from Wokingham Borough’s Sikh Community taking part in the procession and raising much needed funds for young people with additional needs.”

We agree with Cllr Batth when he says that: “Every child deserves the support they require to ensure they can take part.”

“S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
