Introducing the new ‘Me2 Club Crew’
On Tuesday 19th March, the Me2 Club teenagers met for the pilot of the ‘Teenage Meet Up Project’ which proved a great success. The teenagers have been involved with the project since it’s conception, giving ideas of what to do, including for the pilot bowling at Wokingham Superbowl and eating pizza, they even choose the name, Me2 Club Crew.
The project gives our teenagers the chance to socialise, build on valuable life skills, increase independence, confidence and most importantly have fun. For the parents having staff and volunteers involved means that they know it is a fun and safe environment for their teenagers.
Feedback from the teenagers and parents included:
“I Loved it! Thank you”
“We think it’s a great idea. The more opportunities to practise these skills the better. It’s confidence boosting and also because parents are not there it gives the teenager little chance to opt out and let their parent do it!”
The next step is for the Me2 Club Trustees to evaluate the pilot and decide on its future. This project has kindly been funding by an Executive grant from the Sage Foundation.
