Exciting Announcement – Me2 Club is Expanding!

Me2 Club is excited to announce it is moving from a Wokingham Borough charity to a Berkshire charity, starting initially with Reading Borough. Me2 Club’s ethos is ‘Inclusion for All’. Specifically, we aim to ensure that every child we support has the opportunity to attend a mainstream leisure activity, “to be included, to belong”.

Following extensive research and planning, the Trustees of Me2 Club have elected to begin a phased expansion into Reading Borough starting with the 5 wards of Katesgrove, Redlands, Park, Church and Whitley.

The Trustees are absolutely thrilled to be extending the charity’s geographical reach and are committed to supporting children aged 5-19 with additional needs and/or disabilities. Me2 Club children struggle to access activities such as uniform groups, sports and drama but the support of highly trained Me2 Club volunteers facilitates access to mainstream leisure activities for these children, helping them grow in confidence and self-esteem.

Tess Eagles, Me2 Club’s Manager said: “One of the hardest parts of our job is when a family contacts us in desperate need of Me2 Club’s help, but they live outside of our current operational area. The Trustees and Staff Team are delighted to be able to extend our services to families in Reading, helping more children feel less lonely and ensuring ‘Inclusion for All’.”

Ramona Bridgman, Chair of Reading Families Forum said “Reading Families Forum are thrilled that Me2 Club are going to begin supporting Reading families. Our families have been asking for support to help their children with additional needs to access mainstream clubs for some time. Me2 Club have an excellent reputation and we know that they will make a big difference to children and young people in Reading.”

We had an interview with That’s TV Thames Valley to help spread the word of the expansion.

More details of the phased expansion plan will be released in the coming weeks. Me2 Club is also keen to hear from you if there is a child or young person in your family who would benefit from their unique help and if you are interested in volunteering.

Me2 Club is looking for financial sponsors in the Reading area. Their aim is to develop links with corporates and community groups. If you can help, please contact or telephone 0118 969 636.
