A visit from the High Sheriff of Berkshire

This week at Me2 Club we had a visit from Lucy Zeal, the High Sheriff of Berkshire. During the meeting Lucy got to hear all about the wonderful work we do to support our children and their volunteers. After the visit she said “It was a pleasure to meet you all on Tuesday and to hear of the amazing work that you do.” Lucy will be joining our Fundraising Wine and Cheese Reception on Wednesday 18th September at Ascot Racecourse.

Liz and Tess had a planning meeting at Ascot Racecourse this week with Berkshire Community Foundation ahead of the event. As well as offering fantastic networking opportunities, Ascot’s resident Wine Merchant will be talking guests through a selection of wines from across the world with a number of cheeses to compliment the fine wine tasting. The evening will round off with a talk from Hugo Vickers DL – Author, Journalist and frequent broadcaster at high profile Royal occasions. To book your tickets please click here.

Have you been voting for Me2 Club in the Persimmon Homes Building Futures Campaign? It’s so easy and you do not need to register. You can vote every 24 hours per IP address until the 27th September. The top prize is an amazing £100K which would be a huge help with expanding our work throughout Berkshire! To vote click here and please help us to spread the word.

We are excited to announce that we have been nominated for a Pride of Reading award! A big thank you to one of our wonderful volunteers, Susan, for nominating us for the Charity of the year.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, Lou is facing her fears and completing a sky dive to help raise money for Me2 Club! So far, Lou has reached her original target but can you help her reach £500? This amount will sponsor one child to attend their weekly activity with a Me2 Club volunteer for a whole year! To support Lou, visit her just giving page.

“S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
