Support in the local community

As a small, local charity we rely heavily on support from the local community and businesses to help us continue our valuable work. Therefore we would like the opportunity to share with you some of the local organisations and people who have supported us recently plus update you on all the ways that you too can get involved.

We would like to say a big thank you to Ashridge Road Sainsbury’s in Wokingham who have chosen us as their ‘Charity of the Year’ for the last 2 years. In total they have raised an amazing £814.60 which will support 2 children, plus their volunteers, at their activities for a whole year. We are now looking for new homes for our collection tins so if anyone has any suggestions then please get in touch. We would also like to thank McCarthy & Stone, who came along to our family day on Saturday, for their kind donation of £250 to Me2 Club, it means a great deal to all the children and families we support.

This year we are holding a Charity Summer Raffle which has kindly been sponsored by Andy AIMS Accountants for Business. The 1st prize is a £150 John Lewis vouchers, so if you or your family/friends would like to support us by buying some raffle tickets then please get in touch – either by email (info@me2club.org.uk) or telephone (0118 9696369).

Me2 Club are often invited to take part in local community events, such as fetes and fairs, but sadly we don’t always have the capacity to attend them all. Events such as these offer us a chance to raise the vital funds we need, as well as a platform to talk to the public about the great work that we do. Not being able to attend them all means that sometimes we have to miss out on great opportunities and we want to try and make sure this doesn’t happen in the future. Having a strong team of Community Volunteers across the Wokingham Borough to attend events on our behalf will ensure that we are able to maximize all available opportunities. If you are interested in finding out more please email Liz, our Fundraising and Development Officer, at info@me2club.org.uk.

To celebrate their 40th birthday the local convenience store, Nisa, are donating £1,000 to 10 different charities through their charitable foundation, ‘Making a Difference Locally’. It is quick and easy to do, so please take a minute to nominate us to help us recruit and train even more volunteers by clicking here .
