Our biggest ‘Weekend Away’ ever

Last weekend, we had a fantastic time with 10 of our young people and their volunteers at PGL in Liddington. We took part in lots of exciting activities including the obstacle course, Aeroball, the crate challenge and the giant swing! We all had a lot of fun and all our young people and volunteers made new friends over the course of the trip. All of the trip ran very smoothly even though this was the largest group we have ever taken away together and for some of our young people this was their first overnight trip away from their families. We would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers who helped make this trip so successful and to our young people who didn’t allow the cold weather stop them from achieving so much. This ‘Weekend Away’ was kindly funded by the NHS Berkshire West Fund for respite breaks awarded through Berkshire Community Foundation. If you would like to find out more about our ‘Weekend’s Away’ click here and to see our Facebook album of our young people at the activities.

This week, Tess has signed up to take on the 10mile (16 kilometres) Wokingham Walk in aid of Me2 Club. This walk will be a challenge for Tess, to find out why, read her story here. If anyone wants to join her, the registration is now open. Taking part costs £15 for walkers over 18 but for children under 12, its free! There are 5, 10, 15 and 20 mile routes available. if you would like to support Tess and Me2 Club but can’t take part in the walk, please donate to her JustGiving page. Keep an eye out on Facebook and Twitter for updates on Tess’ progress.

Its Fairtrade Fortnight until March 11th and we would love to support anyone who is considering running an event in aid of Fairtrade farmers. Why not raise money for a local charity like Me2 Club and support farmers at the same event by providing Fairtrade goods at a coffee morning or cake sale? If you are interested in running an event, please contact us at liz@me2club.org.uk.

Next week, the Me2 Club team are looking forward to seeing lots of our supporters at our 2nd annual quiz night. Good luck to all the teams, we hope you are all prepared!

“My experience of volunteering with S is very rewarding and I enjoy my time when I am at Guides with her. Me2 Club has given us opportunities to do different things and have different experiences”.
