New recruits and a trip for our teenagers!

This week has been very eventful for all of us at Me2 Club. We ran our first Volunteer Induction Training of 2018 and are having all of our new recruits into the office this week for their interviews so we can learn a little more about them before matching them with our children and young people. Thank you to our family  who came in to training to talk about the difference Me2 Club makes to them, and also to one of our volunteers who came in to talk about what she does with Me2 Club.

We also ran our 3rd successful ‘Day Away‘ to Bristol with our teenagers. We all had a great time eating out at  Pizza Express and at the  Aquarium. We would like to say a big thank you to all of our volunteers who gave up a day of their Half Term to come on the trip as we would not be able to run these trips without them. We know it makes a big difference to our teenagers to go with their volunteers and to meet new ones on the trips. We would also like to thank Reading Dispensary Trust and Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh for their donations that made the trip possible. To read a little more about the ‘Day Away’ see our news story or visit our ‘Day Away’ page to see a few photos from the day.

Thank you to Jae Witts and Hannah Snookes-Owen who ran a bake sale for us this week at their workplace Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL). They raised an amazing £200, which will be matched by RSSL, thank you all for your support of our work.

We are looking forward to seeing lots of our young people and volunteers for the ‘Weekend Away‘ next week and hope that everyone who is coming is excited about all the fun activities we have planned. Keep an eye out in your inboxes for the February edition of the Newsletter, which will be out soon.
