Happy half term!

This week, Jess and Vicky have been busy with introducing new volunteers to our young people at home visits getting ready to start back after half term. The Lower Earley Scarecrow trail was running Saturday until Wednesday over the break and there were 66 brilliant scarecrows displayed for everyone to find. Vicky and Jess went out on a hunt and managed to find a few and have enjoyed seeing all the fantastic creations! We are very grateful to be one of the charities supported by this event and we would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in organising the trail, creating the scarecrows and anyone who took part in the trail itself.

We are running our Christmas Card Competition again this year and need your designs! To enter, please create a design and send a scanned copy to info@me2club.org.uk or post it to us at the office (Parkside House, Unit 6, 15 Headley Road, Woodley, RG5 4JB). The design can be a painting, drawing, collage, digital illustration, finger painting or anything creative and can be either portrait or landscape. The deadline for submissions is noon on Friday 16th November and the competition will be judged by The Wokingham Borough Mayor! Results will be announced and prizes given, at our Christmas Party on 9th December. We have already had our first entry so get creative!

We have also been invited to create designs for Hilton Hotels this year and winning designs will appear on their Christmas cards, which are sold across the UK to raise funds for their central grants programme. For designs to be also sent to Hilton the deadline is Tuesday 30th October.

We hope everyone is enjoying their half term and we are looking forward to seeing lots of our young people and volunteers back at their activities next week.

“My experience of volunteering with S is very rewarding and I enjoy my time when I am at Guides with her. Me2 Club has given us opportunities to do different things and have different experiences”.
