‘Purple Prose’ are our quiz winners!

On Friday 9th March, 100 people joined in with our annual Charity Quiz Night helping us to raise an amazing £1,926.

The evening started with a fun game of ‘Heads and Tails’, which was won by Rob from Easthampstead Rotary Club, before fourteen teams started answering  questions on a wide range of topics.

For the 2nd year running, the winners were ‘Purple Prose’ with a fantastic score of 109 points out of a possible 140.  Pat Taylor, their team captain, said: “Thanks once again to the Me2 Club for organising such an enjoyable evening. Purple Prose was delighted and surprised to win again and we are very happy that a substantial amount was raised for such a worthy cause.”

This year, it was great that we were joined by new teams, including KJ Smith Solicitors, who said afterwards: “On behalf of KJ Smith quiz team I would like thank you and the team for a really good quiz night, we all enjoyed. We look forward to coming again next year. Keep up the great work.”

We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who supported the event, either on the night or with donations, including:

  • Hicks Developments Ltd who sponsored the event
  • B.E.T.S. for the trophy and medals
  • Geoff from The Soundsmobile Roadshow for being our question master
  • Hong Kong Garden and Waitrose in Woodley for our supper
  • Aldi in Woodley for the winner’s prizes.

“S enjoys taking part in activities that they did not like to do before, like cooking and taking part in big group games. Instead of always sitting in the corner they are now able to join the group without me even encouraging them to do so.”
