Another successful ‘Day Away’ in Bristol

During the February half term, we took 8 of our Me2 Club teenagers on a ‘Day Away’ to Bristol, as part of our ‘Day Away Project’. The main aims of the project are to promote confidence and independence in our young people, so prior to the trip, we invited them in for a planning meeting. At the meeting they chose what they would like to do and meet everyone who was coming.

We all travelled down to Bristol by coach and went for a meal at Pizza Express, before taking a stroll across Bristol to the Aquarium. Highlights from the aquarium were the Amazon talk, seeing the fish, turtles and string rays being fed and the brilliant underwater tunnel. We ended the day with a sing along on the coach journey home led by one of our young people. Thank you to the Reading Dispensary Trust and Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh for funding the trip and making it possible.
