Developing our Inclusion Training Programme

On Wednesday we ran our Volunteer Induction Training in preparation for matching more children when the new term starts in September. We received really positive feedback from everyone attending, with one of our volunteers saying she felt “very ready to be matched with a child” after attending the course and another saying she “can’t wait!”. We covered a variety of subjects including Autism, challenging behaviour, communication and we also had a visit from one of our Me2 Club young people and her mother to talk about her wonderful experience with Me2 Club and the progress she has made since having the support of a volunteer.

Me2 are excited to announce that we will be updating out Inclusion Training Programme over the following months. As part of this we are asking local activity leaders to help by letting us know what training topics they would find most useful. Your feedback will help us increase inclusion of children with additional needs in the local community, so we would really appreciate if you could spare a few minutes to fill out our online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DKR6CXG

On Monday 31st July the Wokingham Borough Mayor Cllr Rob Stanton will be drawing our Summer Raffle which has kindly been sponsored by Andy from www.aims.co.uk. If you have any ticket stubs/money to return to us, Monday at 11am is your last chance to drop them back to our offices. Thank you to everyone who has supported this raffle and we look forward to announcing the winners next week.

“My experience of volunteering with S is very rewarding and I enjoy my time when I am at Guides with her. Me2 Club has given us opportunities to do different things and have different experiences”.
