In 2017 we piloted an exciting new ‘Day Away’ project which is open to young people who are currently supported by Me2 Club. The aim of the project is to increase our young peoples confidence and independence skills. Last May we took our teenagers for a day out at the seaside in Bournemouth funded by the Wessex Youth Trust and in August we took 10 of our Me2 Club young people for a day out at Cotswold Wildlife Park which was funded by the Berkshire Community Foundation.
Me2 Club have just successfully run our 3rd Day Away, which was a trip to Bristol with our teenagers. Prior to the trip, we invited our teenagers into the office for a planning meeting. They decided on a meal at Pizza Express and a trip to Bristol Aquarium where we saw a giant octopus, listened to a talk on the Amazon, and saw the turtles, fish and stingrays being fed. Thank you to the Reading Dispensary Trust and Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh for funding the trip and making it possible.
